I spent the last four months researching the ingredients of popular toy products found at the largest standalone toy store chain in the world – Toys "R" Us. You will be shocked by what I discovered. Many of their edible and cosmetic products (including lip gloss, nail polish, body glitter, and temporary tattoos), contain some of the harshest chemicals linked to hormone disruption, cancer, and a host of other health-related issues!
Toys "R" Us has the power to force its suppliers to clean up their ingredients by removing toxic chemicals we know are causing harm to our children. I am asking them to follow Wal-Mart's lead, who in September of 2013 announced they will ban 10 dangerous toxic chemicals from cosmetic, cleaning and personal care products that they sell.
Toys "R" Us has the power to do the same, and I have launched this petition to ask Toys "R" Us to offer healthier options for our children.
As consumers, we have become keenly aware of the dangers that chemicals pose to our health, and we will no longer accept being science experiments in exchange for profits. Please join me in asking Toys "R" Us to remove toxic chemicals including phthalates, parabens, and Scary Seven ingredients including artificial colors and trans fats, from the products sold in its stores. My full investigation is below the petition, and on the subsequent pages.
