What is possible is so much more than your mind is willing to allow you to believe.
I have heard it said many times that God dreams much bigger than we ever could. The evidence of that surrounds us every day. Think back over aspects of your own life. No doubt you can pay witness to achievements and events that in earlier days you likely never even dared dream were possible.
What I would like you to consider is that it is fine to dream bigger than you ever have in the past. Saying that, it is also not necessary for you to immediately believe what you can dream initially will be possible.
I was given a rather stunning bit of news at my son's skating practice on the weekend. While lacing up his skates, one of the other dads commented "So, great news about your brother-in-law," he said. "What news?" I answered. The news he delivered of course caused me to call home and to go online to verify it. Sure enough, it was true. My brother-in-law, who started his broadcasting career at the same little radio station that I did, was just picked by Sports Illustrated as the play-by-play announcer-not of the year but of the decade! In a field of veterans and heavyweights like Al Michaels, Greg Gumbel, Jim Nantz, Brent Musburger, and Joe Buck, Dan was chosen as the best from the field of dreams.
This was his reaction to the announcement that was quoted in the papers: "When my agent told me about it, I couldn't believe it. This goes beyond flattering. I was stunned. There are so many people in my profession that I look up to, that I respect. It really hasn't sunk in yet."
Here is the part of his answer I want you to pay special attention to. He said, "I couldn't believe it." Think about that. Even now. Even today after working as one of the top play-by-play announcers in Major League Baseball and the NBA, he still could not believe it. I can tell you he wasn't just saying that to be humble-he really couldn't believe it.
Here is why he sits atop the pinnacle of the sports announcers club of the best. He figured out what his passion was a long time ago and then set about doing what he could to get better every day.
That's all. That's the path for all of us. That and knowing what the truth is for us all:
"What is possible is so much more than your mind is willing to allow you to believe."
Have an excellent day.
